MERKI

Use

Getting started

Create a MERKI keyhold in the web wallet: write down the phrase, fund the address, send with a fresh key, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Everything happens in the web wallet. You need a modern browser and, to send real operations later, an ordinary EVM wallet (MetaMask, Rabby and similar) with a little ETH on Robinhood Chain to pay gas.

1. Create a keyhold

Open the wallet, pick a password (12 characters or more) and press Create. Your browser generates a 24-word phrase, encrypts it with the password (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 rounds, AES-256-GCM) and stores only the encrypted copy. The site never receives the phrase.

2. Write down the phrase

The phrase is shown once after creation and again under Keys → Show phrase with your password. Write it on paper and keep it offline. Anyone with it controls the keyhold; without it nobody, including us, can restore your keys.

3. Fund the address

Your keyhold address is shown as soon as the forge is deployed. Send ETH or tokens to it from any wallet, or use Fund from connected wallet. Funds can arrive before the keyhold contract exists.

4. Send

In Send, fill in who gets it and how much, then press Review. The review shows the full recipient, the key that will sign, the key that will be stored next and a simulated result. Confirm, and your connected wallet asks you to submit the EntryPoint transaction and pay its gas. On the very first send, that same transaction deploys the keyhold.

Practice mode

Until the forge is deployed the wallet runs in practice mode: it creates a real phrase and real keys, signs and verifies real signatures in your browser and moves a practice keyhold forward, without any transaction. Practice balances are not money.

Restoring a phrase

A restored phrase opens read-only. You can see the address, the balance and the on-chain key index, but signing stays off until you confirm that no other device holds an unfinished operation for this phrase. Two devices with separate journals could sign with the same key.

Messages you may see

  • "Key #n has an unfinished operation." A signed operation is still waiting to be included. Resubmit it unchanged, or replace it with the recovery key. Never sign something new with that key.
  • "Keyhold forge is not deployed yet." Practice mode. Receiving to the address starts when it is live.
  • "Connect a wallet to submit." Real operations need a connected wallet on Robinhood Chain to pay gas.
